Greenways- The Limestone Trail


 Greenways are routes, trails or natural corridors used in harmony with their  ecological function.They foster the preservation of natural and cultural heritage,  provide options for safe transportation, recreation and tourism,  and encourage a healthier lifestyle. 

 Well known mainly due to the Ramet Gorges, the Trascau Mountains are remarkable through old traditional houses and whrilpools, water mills and through more then 250 years old churches.The Limestone Trail  is a network, in total lenght of 150 km which includes 8 routes.The trail is developed on three parallel valleys and offer the possibility to visit 15 nature reserves.

In this tour we'll visit the most famous valley in the area- Geoagiu Valley, with the oldest monastery from Transylvania- Rimet Monastery and the wild Rimet Gorge.


- Teiuş: Sf. Treime orthodox church, protestant church from 14th century, the roman-catholic church, old mill from 1890.
- Stremt: Etnographic Museum, Etnographic exhibition Popa Achim family, orthodox church from 14th century.
- Geoagiu de Sus: mill and whirlpool at Dan family, the church from 
Monastery- former Orthodox Episcopate from Transylvania since 14th century.
- Valea Manastirii: Ramet Monastery, Manastirii Gorge, Ramet Gorge.

Reservation terms 

Please reserve the tour to minimum one day in advance.
For groups over 6 persons please request the tour one week before.
The tour starts at 9 am and finish at 8 pm.
The transport is in private rental car.
Route lenght- 200 km
English guide.
Validity-all periods of the year.
The offer does not include meals and drinks, entrance fees and tips.
