Trip in Apuseni Mountains

 

We invite you to participate in a trip in the Apuseni Mountains: Cluj Teiuş- Mesentea- Cetea Gorges (The Roman Baths) – Galda Gorge.

On the way you will have the opportunity to know your fellow trip, to discover your passions, and make new friends. At lunch served from locals, we will enjoy local food products and we have the opportunity to enter the atmosphere of a traditional village, Mesentea. Do not miss brandy or a glass of juice shock.

Date of trip: February 14, 2015 (Sat). Price: 65 lei

Transportation will be by bus. Number of participants: 33.

The difficulty of the route: beginners- will be a walking path for about 3 hours.

Optional lunch is offered at a price of 15 lei.

Objectives:

Cetea Gorges- The Roman Baths

The protected area is included in the Site  Natura 2000 Trascau and is an area of narrow gorges carved in the limestone. Flora of the protected area consists of trees and shrubs species: pine, beech, oak. In the grasses are common floral species of grassland and rocky, including: edelweiss and liverworts.

Galda Gorges, nature reserve with lots of rare and protected plant species.

The protected area is included in the Site  Natura 2000 Trascau and is a gorge area dug into Jurassic limestone (steep ridges, towers, ditches, niches, shelves or debris) that gives the place a particular landscape.

Reserve comprises a diverse range of plants: tree species (deciduous), herbs and flowers.

In the grasses are found more rare grassland and rocky flora, including the edelweiss, meadow, grass or crop rudd dove.

Departure meeting will be held at the Student House (Casa Studentilor) on Saturday, February 14-th, 2015, hour 7:30. Return the same day at 20.30.

Equipment required: small backpack, boots with thick soles (mountain shoes), sweater, waterproof rain coat, hat, water bottle.

Tourists will be joined by Dan Moisa, travel guide, specialist in environmental issues with over 25 years experience in mountaineering.
